My name is Cyndi and I'm an addict.

Yup, it's true. I'm an addict. I'm addicted to Trader Joe's. Now that I live quite a few states away from a Trader Joe's establishment I tend to find myself crying in the middle of my local grocery store wondering where all the good food I became addicted to has gone. Whhhhhhy me?

So when Christmas season rolled around I found myself aching for some Candy Cane Joe Joe's. Lucky for me I have a pretty stellar friend who shipped me a few boxes! Now, here I sit watching the snow fall outside and dipping some Joe Joe's in milk while my cat keeps warm on my lap. Ahhhhh, the good life. But wait, I'm getting to the end of the box! What will I do? Lucky for me I have another stellar friend who turned me on to this blog!

Now I can spend the rest of the winter baking then failing then baking again then failing worse and finally begging friends to send more Joe Joe's. Yay!

I have to admit, I'm pro fur in fashion so this ongoing trend excites me! I need this hat. NEED.

Interesting Indeed

Oh the thoughts that go on in my head. My husband is never able to comprehend. There is no telling what will pop up next, no never.

Some such thoughts are the following:

1. Why is there a thimble in monopoly? What does a thimble have to do with financial domination?

2. Why can't my cat be a real live man?

3. Why does Ashton Kutcher never seem to look different?... Isn't he like 50 now? AGE ALREADY!

4. Why can't holiday shake flavors be at fast food restaurants all year round?

Remaking fun or...?

I can't decide if I'm happy that this remake is catching on or if I'm sad that people seem to love the remake more than the original song from Architecture In Helsinki. And what's more, some people seem to not even know it's a remake! As Dr. Dog himself would say, "Shame, Shame". But when all is said and done, I have a fondness for both.

It's snowing!! And I'm baking cinnamon rolls stuffed with apples! And listening to the new Feist album! Jealous? Don't worry, this can be you too.

Feist album download/listen link: here

RECIPE

2 Cups shredded green apples
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 Tablespoon flour

Topping:
1 Tablespoon melted butter
1 Tablespoon sugar
1/4 Teaspoon ground cinnamon

Glaze:
6 Tablespoons powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon melted butter
1/4 Vanilla or almond extract
1-2 Teaspoons milk

Pre-heat oven to temperature specified on your bread dough

Spray a pie plate (or similar dish( with nonstick cooking spray and set aside

On a lightly floured surfce, roll dough into a rectangle (about 12x18), cut dough into 3-in squares

In a mixing bowl, combine the ingredients for the filling and mix well.

Spoon filling onto each square of dough. Use your fingers to close each square of dough, wrapping dough around filling and pinching to seal shut forming a ball. Place balls seam side down in pie plate.

Combine the toping ingredients and sprinkle on top of the dough. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the rolls are golen brown on top. Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes

While the rolls are cooling, whisk the glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle on top of rolls and serve.

Dear Diary,

Sometimes my husband stays up late watching Grey's Anatomy...by himself. Should I be worried?

Love,

“Opposition turns up almost anyplace something good has happened. It can happen when you are trying to get an education. It can hit you after your first month in your new mission field. It certainly happens in matters of love and marriage. … There are cautions and considerations to make, but once there has been genuine illumination, beware the temptation to retreat from a good thing. If it was right when you prayed about it and trusted it and lived for it, it is right now. Don’t give up when the pressure mounts. … Face your doubts. Master your fears. ‘Cast not away therefore your confidence.’ Stay the course and see the beauty of life unfold for you.”
